This policy explains what personal data Clipsmith collects, why, and what you can do about it. Clipsmith is operated by [OPERATOR FULL NAME], [CITY], Italy, contact [email protected] (the "data controller").
What we collect
- Account data: email, name or channel name, a hashed password (or your Google account email if you sign in with Google).
- Your content: the links, files and descriptions you send, and the clips we produce from them.
- Anti-abuse data: a device fingerprint (a hash of browser characteristics) and your IP address, used only to allow one free trial per person.
- Payment data: handled by the payment provider (PayPal or Stripe). We never see or store your card details.
Why we use it
- To deliver the service you ordered (contract).
- To prevent abuse of the free trial (legitimate interest).
- To send you service emails, such as "your clips are ready" (contract).
- To keep accounting records (legal obligation).
How long we keep it
- Source videos and transcripts: deleted as soon as your order is finished.
- Finished clips: deleted 7 days after delivery.
- Account data: until you delete your account. Accounting records: as long as Italian law requires.
- Free-trial anti-abuse records: kept to enforce one trial per person, without your content.
Where it is processed
On our own computer in Italy. Some processing can run on rented cloud GPUs; emails are sent through an email provider; sign-in with Google goes through Google. These providers act on our instructions.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, or object to its use, by writing to [email protected]. You can also complain to the Italian data protection authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
Cookies
We use one technical cookie to keep you signed in. No advertising or tracking cookies are used today; if this changes, we will ask for your consent first.
