Terms of service

These terms apply to the Clipsmith service, operated by [OPERATOR FULL NAME], [CITY], Italy ([email protected]). By creating an account you accept them.

The service

Clipsmith turns videos, descriptions and ideas you send into short videos ("clips"). Results are generated automatically; we aim to deliver most orders in about 20 minutes, but delivery times are an objective, not a guarantee.

Your content and your rights

• You may only send material you own or have the right to use and edit. You are responsible for that material and for how you publish the clips.
• You keep all rights to your content and to the clips we make for you. You give us only the permission needed to process it for your order.
• We refuse or delete material that is illegal, infringing, hateful or sexual involving minors, and may close accounts that send it.

Free trial

One free clip per person. Creating more accounts to get more trials is not allowed; we use technical measures to enforce this.

Prices, wallet and subscriptions

• Prices are shown before you order. The wallet balance never expires and can be used for any service.
• Subscriptions renew monthly (or yearly) and can be cancelled anytime from your account; cancellation stops the next renewal.
• If an order fails, nothing is charged: clips or credit go back to your account automatically.
• Redo guarantee: if a clip misses the moment, you can ask for one free redo.
• Digital content is delivered immediately at your request: once an order is delivered, the 14-day withdrawal right no longer applies to it (art. 59 Italian Consumer Code).

Points (Sparks)

Points earned on Clipsmith have no cash value, cannot be bought, sold or exchanged for money, and can only be spent on Clipsmith rewards. We may change the rewards or end the program with notice.

Liability

We do our best to keep the service working and your files safe, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid in the last 3 months, except where the law does not allow such a limit.

Law

These terms are governed by Italian law. Consumers keep the protections of the law of their country of residence.

Open-source credits

Clipsmith runs on open-source software, entirely on our own machines: your videos are never sent to third-party AI services. Translation uses Argos Translate (MIT) with OPUS-MT models by the University of Helsinki (CC BY 4.0). Speech recognition uses faster-whisper (MIT) with OpenAI Whisper models (MIT). Video processing uses FFmpeg (LGPL). Caption fonts are licensed under the SIL Open Font License. Facts in narrated videos are taken from Wikipedia (CC BY-SA). Example images on this site come from NASA (public domain); NASA does not endorse Clipsmith.
